YEP Business Plan Competition Rules
Eligibility
- You must be between the ages of 14 – 27 and reside in San Diego County to be eligible to participate in YEP and enter a business plan into the YEP Business Plan Competition.
- In order to enter the YEP Business Plan Competition, you must be a registered YEP participant and complete the YEP online business training.
Business Plans
- Participants can develop the business plan on their own or as part of a team.
- Business plans must be original and written by the participant(s). Plagiarism is means for disqualification. Sample plans obtained through the internet or other means can be used as a guide only.
- The following business types are not acceptable and should not be submitted as part of the YEP Business Plan Competition:
- Businesses that display or sell pornographic content
- Web sites that promote or glorify violence and other illegal activity
- Businesses that sell products or services of an immoral nature
- Pyramid or multi-level marketing schemes
- Gambling businesses
Competition & Notification of Winners
- To be considered for the competition, business plans must be submitted via email to [email protected] by the advertised deadline.
- Business plans submitted for the YEP Business Plan Competition will be evaluated and scored by a judging panel consisting of business professionals and based on elements including, but not limited to, plan organization, soundness of business concept, and feasibility of financials.
- The winning business plans will be those receiving the top 3 scores from the judges.
- Winners will be announced at an awards ceremony held at a date and time to be determined after the competition.
- Winners of the YEP Business Plan Competition will be posted to the YEP website within 72 hours following the awards ceremony.
